Terms of Use

You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter this agreement where you live. Roam.io is not for people under 18 and does not store a date of birth—only a confirmed eligible age bracket. By creating or using an account, you agree to these Terms, the Community Guidelines, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping access credentials secure. You retain ownership of trip content you create and permit Roam.io and its processors to handle that content only as needed to provide the application.

Use Roam.io lawfully. Do not misuse invitations, collaboration, infrastructure, or other people’s data. Do not upload unlawful content, passwords, full payment-card credentials, or files you do not have permission to store. Access may be suspended or deleted when necessary to protect users or the service.

Trip owners control invitations and roles. Editors can change shared itinerary content and viewers can read it. Share invitations only with their intended recipient and understand that deleting an owned trip removes collaborators’ access.

You may choose a username, send or respond to friend requests, and remove accepted friends. Do not impersonate others, scrape traveler search, send abusive requests, or use traveler information outside its intended connection purpose.

Friendship and trip collaboration are separate features. A friend receives no trip access unless the trip owner separately invites or adds that account. Tribe posts may be visible to eligible signed-in users, but sharing a post or an itinerary snapshot never grants access to the source trip. Roam.io does not provide contact-book matching.

You retain ownership of posts, comments, photos, idea titles and notes, and itinerary content you share with Tribe or Ideas. You grant Roam.io the limited licence described below to host, process, reproduce, and display that content to operate the community features you choose. A shared itinerary is a deliberately limited snapshot, not access to your private source trip.

Do not post unlawful, abusive, misleading, privacy-invasive, or infringing content, and do not share private addresses, booking details, credentials, payment information, or another person’s content or location without permission. Other users may report content or block accounts. Roam.io may hide or remove content and restrict access when reasonably needed for safety, legal compliance, or enforcement.

Ideas link to third-party sources such as social, video, map, or publisher sites. Share only links and descriptions you are allowed to use. Source content, previews, availability, accuracy, and third-party rights remain governed by the source provider; an Idea, like, save, or trip vote is not a Roam.io endorsement or booking recommendation.

Comment discussions support top-level comments and one level of replies. Replies cannot be nested further, and the same conduct and moderation rules apply to both.

Direct messaging is limited to accepted friends and plain text. Shared trips also include a group chat for owners and collaborators who can view the trip. Participants must not use messages for spam, harassment, impersonation, illegal activity, or unsafe conduct. Removing a friend makes existing one-to-one conversation history read-only; it does not erase the other participant’s copy. Deleting a direct chat removes it from your inbox only; the other traveler keeps their history, and a later message can revive the conversation.

Optional push notifications may alert you to invitations, collaboration updates, friend requests, new messages, and Tribe likes or comments using generic summaries without message or comment bodies. Blocking prevents new friend requests and direct messages but does not remove either person from shared trips or trip group chats. Reports may be reviewed for safety and do not automatically delete content or accounts. Roam.io does not claim end-to-end encryption and does not provide public chat or contact syncing.

AI-generated suggestions are informational drafts that require your review. Roam.io is not a travel agency, booking service, or payment provider.

You remain responsible for bookings, availability, timings, prices, visas, entry rules, health and safety, and every travel decision. Verify important information with authoritative providers.

External maps (including Apple Maps and Google Maps), geocoding, linked Inspiration sources, AI, authentication, storage, realtime, push delivery (including Expo and Apple or Google platform services), optional email services, and public App Store or Play Store listings used to detect a newer app version have their own terms and availability. Roam.io does not control external source content, bookings, or payments.

You retain ownership of content you create. You grant Roam.io a limited, worldwide licence to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the features you choose. Roam.io branding, application design, and original software remain the property of their respective owner.

Roam.io is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no guarantee is made that the service, AI suggestions, maps, collaboration, messages, notifications, or stored information will always be available, complete, secure, or error-free. Keep independent copies of information needed for travel. Consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from travel decisions, third-party providers, interrupted access, or user-provided content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You may stop using Roam.io or delete your account at any time. Access may be limited or terminated for abuse, unlawful conduct, security risk, or material breach. Features and these Terms may change as the service evolves; material changes will be identified through an updated effective date and appropriate notice.

The configured operator and jurisdiction are shown with this document. Applicable mandatory consumer protections continue to apply. Contact Roam.io through the configured support channel with questions or disputes before pursuing other remedies available under applicable law.
